As the year comes to an end and the festivities begin , we would like to take this opportunity to say

THANK YOU to all our followers, our loyal customers our new customers and to all who have supported candy soirees during our journey. It has been a long one but we have finally reached our destination and have found our niche if you like......and we couldn't have done out with you.

As most of you know we have changed the direction for CS and have started designing and developing our own party range, a project we have been quietly working on for quite some time now but we have finally made the dream come true.

Here is a look at our range so far......

We are committed to bringing to you high quality products at great value,

we offer sweet details for sweet parties.

2012 will bring many more changes to candy soirees, we will continue to expand our partyware range with co ordinating products and unique designs. We will see a bigger expansion to the range.

However, to focus on this we will not be designing printables and invites going forward as we want to solely focus on our branding and wholesale range. There are so many talented and amazing designers in the party world who we have respect for and so admire their work and we are happy to refer you to someone who can help you in this area.

Do you mind whilst we change ..........

It has been a while since we posted on our little blog.....I have been so busy and so much has been happening at candy soirees and personally. Soooo I would like to take the opportunity to let you all know about our exciting developments here at CS.

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who has followed and supported candy soirees over the last year or so, what started out as a little hobby and personal creative therapy with little business direction has turned out to be more of an actual business venture (quite unintentionally might I add). After a year of playing with this and dabbling in that, we have decided to actually sit down and create a 'Grown up' candy soirees with proper direction and a formal business plan.

In addition to this, some of you might know that I have been battling ill health....a hospital trip.....some not so good news and all whilst trying to raise two beautiful but active little boys.....which has lead me to make some firm changes in my work life....changes that will give me clear direction and more time enjoying life and my family.

Having said all this I can't completely unveil the future of CS just yet, but I can reveal that we are working on our own 'candyware' range.....a party favour range of pretty candy boxes and sweet bags that can be purchased at retail but will also be offered at wholesale. Wholesale being a direction we are keen to take.

We are also working on a new box design targeted for christenings/baptisms and special occasions, these will be offered at wholesale to all christening and wedding specialists and retailers. (currently under development,design will be revealed soon )

We will continue to range our invitation packs with new and exciting styles on offer, these will also be available for wholesale purchase. Our chocolate bar favours will always be a part of candy soirees as this is what we started our business with and is our signature product, however we will take more time to bring you new and exciting designs and will also offer a select printable range in the wrappers.

As for our beloved dessert tables and candy buffet styling , we will continue to offer a styling service but we will only take on a certain amount of these projects per year (at this stage). We are focusing on a new styling concept for retailers, offering our candy tables as a merchandising tool for boutique stores with in Melbourne. We will not be styling entire events (other than selected dessert tables) we will NOT offer custom design and made to order stationery and party decor (ie party buntings, cupcake toppers, custom design food labels etc) and we will not be offering to create wedding and christening bonbonniere. These items will only be offered when we are styling a sweets table for clients.

Finally, our online shop is business as usual, Whilst we are streamlining our range, we will continue to stock brands that we have an immense respect for and feel are in line with the candy soirees branding : ie Sambellina, Robert Gordon and some independent overseas suppliers, however whilst we are focusing on a wholesale offer, we are also excited to be adding our own candy soirees 'candyware' range, and a select range of hard to find candy for your dessert stations.....to our online shoppe.

So we hope you don't mind if we take some time to focus on our new range and design some new and exciting goodies for your next soiree.

Recently one of our customers sent us these amazing photos of a christening dessert table that they stylishly put together for a sweet little girls special day. Dalia from Tiny Tots Toy Hire was kind enough to allow us to share these with you all and we are very grateful, the event was executed beautifully and the colours and set up is just dreamy...don't you think? Love that pink wall, it makes a perfect backdrop and was the inspiration to this beautiful creation. The celebration was held at the The Sydney Restaurant in trendy Double Bay. The colour theme was Pink and Brown, one of my favourite combinations.......................

Wow...what a busy few weeks we have had. So many parties and dessert table and it has been so much fun.
We were asked to style an 'Alice in Wonderland' Party for a sweet little girl turning 2. Our client chose none other than the Fabulous Kiss me Kate for the cake and selection of sweets and we were selected to style this amazing little soiree and dessert table.

Dream little Angel .....DREAM

We are honoured to share with you a very special event and dessert table in honour or a very special baby. Little Portia....or should I say our little angel Portia.
The lovely Anita from Cake Envy, one of my favourite vendors and most talented cake decorator/baker.....was kind enough and brave enough to allow candy soirees to share her story. A story that will leave you in tears but also in awe of the courage of a family who lost their precious daughter. Portia was indeed a beautiful little baby bought into this world with unfortunate circumstances.....she fought for her little life and stayed with her family long enough to capture their hearts but not long enough to share a life together. Portia sadly was taken at 40 weeks old.
' God not only sends special angels into our lives but sometimes he even sends them back again..............'

I admire Anita's strength to allow us to share her following words:

This precious party was put together in memory of our daughter Portia who would have turned one on 22 march 2011. Our baby girl was diagnosed with a number of severe heart conditions during our routine ultrasound at 34 weeks. Despite given grim hope that she would last the birth, she gave us 40 days of glorious memories which we will hold on to forever. Portia got to meet her grandparents, aunts and uncles and her two adoring sisters Sienna and Mia. Our world has changed forever, but we have learned to appreciate every day. Portia’s sisters and I thought it would be special to put together this celebration to share with our family to remember her short but memorable life. Remember our angel Portia Grimbos 22.3.2010 – 30.4.2010.

little Portia.

A precious photo, holding Portia's loving memory stood at the table that was

put together to honour her 1st birthday and little life.

For me the most amazing thing about this dessert table is not the stunning sweets, nor the beautifully combined colours.....or the pretty pinwheels and tissue pom poms. For it is the act of one family coming

together to honour and remember their daughter/baby sister. The love that is poured into this little private event is admirable.

Furthermore, the strength of this family amazes me, and the fact that they allowed me to share their story will always remain as a highlight for me.

Thank you Anita (and family) may your little Angel always shine from above and may she always fill your heart with precious love and adoring memories.

I scream, you scream, we all scream AHOY ice cream!!!

Today on this glorious warm summers day ..... we styled and set up a little pirate party for a sweet little boy who is turning 1. The theme is pirate, and the treat was an ice cream parlour. Little Aidyn had a candy buffet for his Christening so mum wanted something different for the little guests to enjoy.....So ice cream parlour it was. Aidyn is such a lucky little boy, his parents went to so much effort to make it special for him, dad even built an amazing ice cream stand that was the feature of the party.
Happy Birthday Captain Aidyn, hope you and your little Pirates have a fabulous party.

Love me tender .....

We have been so busy here at candy soirees that we have neglected our poor little blog a little.....but the good news is we are back !

Recently we had the fabulous opportunity to work with the amazing Vesna from My Little Jedi...yet again. You may remember our Vintage High Tea dessert table that we designed and created last year. This year started off with more creativity by celebrating St Valentines day with a 'Love me Tender' valentines table that candy soirees designed and created with My Little Jedi, promoting their beautiful new Damask Love printables. Which may I add are Divine !!

Candy Soirees also had the wonderful opportunity of working with Cake Envy, who created our featured cake (design inspired by Bakerella) and all the sweet treats such as the cup cakes, biscuits and delicious cake pops. Anita from Cake Envy is an artist and perfectionist when it comes to baking and creating. Truly inspiring. Thank you Anita for helping us with this project.

The Table was inspired by My Little Jedis Damask Love printables and the timeless classic Elvis ballad, 'Love me Tender'...... The highlights were the beautiful 3 tier cake decorated with white hearts and featuring one pink heart in honeysuckle pink. This design was carried through to the cookies, cup cakes and cake tops. The feel was modern and clean with a touch of whimsical romance. We added a stunning chandelier decal in Honeysuckle Pink as a back drop feature. I love the way it stands out against the Glass window. The aim was to create something simple yet Romantic.

In addition our little sweet table was featured on the Amy Atlas Blog which is a wonderful honour and surreal reward.....so thank you to Vesna from My Little Jedi and Anita from Cake Envy for a wonderful opportunity. It was a real honour to work with such talented women.

Candy soirees' Party of the Year.....Vintage tea bithday party

Candy soirees was recently asked to put together a dessert table for a Melbourne customer wanting to celebrate her precious daughters 2nd birthday party........the brief was anything Vintage and High Tea as mum was getting together with a handful of her close friends and their children to enjoy an afternoon of birthday celebrations and decadent cakes for all to indulge in.....so the planning began.

We decided to feature My little Jedi's new Vintage Chic Printable range which tied in perfectly with this theme and the lovely Vesna for MLJ {Sydney} accepted my proposal to work on this project together. My Little Jedi has a love of all things girly, vintage and pretty and her inspiration is commendable....so collaborating with Vesna was an absolute pleasure and together we managed to share the ideas and concept to this sweet little soiree. I have been looking for the perfect opportunity to work with My Little Jedi for quite some time.... as I have been inspired by Vesna for so long now and love her passion for Vintage soirees. Thank you Vesna for giving candy soirees the pleasurable opportunity to work with you ...you have an amazing talent and this was the perfect project to work on with you....I enjoyed immensely.

The little party was set in a beautiful English garden style setting and the table was dressed with a white table cloth and pink tulle over lay. A venetian mirror was featured leaning against a white wicker chair for the little girls to play dress ups and enjoy some girly fun.

We only have 4 more sleeps to go before we leave milk and cookies out for Santa....light the Christmas lights, frantically wrap our last minute pressies....and listen to nostalgic Christmas carols on the Eve of the most magical day in the year.......so it is only fitting that I share with you all this magical and festive Christmas table put together by two very talented ladies and Friends of mine from The Inspired Occasion in Melbourne.

Delicious m&m party...

Today's party feature is our very own m&m party designed and put together for a father and daughter birthday. Michael and Madelaine.....Dad is celebrating his milestone 40th birthday and little Princess Maddie turned 2. As they share the same initials we decided on a cute and fun m&m party to help these two celebrate their special day. Happy birthday Michael and Maddie, hope the day if filled with lots of fun and yummy candy.

The table was filled with a selection of m&m flavours for all to enjoy, and a simple white table cloth was decorated with strands of colourful and textured ribbons.

I love Christmas (who doesn't) love seeing all the festive windows at the shops, the kids faces when they see Santa at the department store, the decorating of the tree, wrapping the presents and the best part of all......giving that special gift to a loved one and seeing their face when they open it. Christmas for me is about family, love and happiness. It is a time where the year that just was is put behind wether good or bad and a new beginning is waiting around the corner. It's a time to be thankful for all we have and to get together and enjoy the festivities.

That is why (for all of the above reasons) I take the time and put in the special effort to decorate the house and create seasonal cheer in our house.....it warms my heart to see my boys faces when the house turns into a Christmas wonderland. A sweet little studio for kids parties......

We love it when our clients send in pictures of their children's parties, in particular mums who do if for the love of being creative and making their children happy. Today I want to show you 3 parities designed and put together from 3 talented mums (clients of candy soirees) Each event is different and each one is created with love and style.

Jenny (owner of Samava skin fitness therapy) recently celebrated the baptism of her adorable little boy Billy. Jenny contacted us to design a chocolate bar favour combined with traditional sugar almonds, she also purchased some of our rock candy to add to her stunning candy buffet.......the selection of candy is amazing and the kids must have been in sweet heaven.

Our second real party from real mums feature is from the lovely Maria......a very loyal client of candy soirees and close friend. Maria over the weekend celebrated her daughters party and put together a pink princess party. I love that Maria created this table all by herself with some details and party ware from candy soirees, and baked all the goodies and treats......not to mention she made her own cupcake toppers and party labels......I think she did a great job given it was her first time. I'm impressed Maria ( loooove the chocolate bar wrappers) xx

Ohhhhh I am so into the old traditional kids movies right now and my 4 year old is loving Pinocchio and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.....but we haven't watched the famous and whimsical story of Alice In Wonderland as yet......Which brings me to our next party feature.....prepare to be taken to a wonderland (literally)
Sarah from the gorgeous Princess Allure Jewellery recently celebrated her 30th birthday and contacted us for some yummy rock candy to treat her guests....when she mentioned this theme I was over the moon and waiting with anticipation to see the photos.......Sarah did an amazing job styling and recreating a wonderland for her guests. All her guests were asked to arrive the wonderland soiree wearing a hat or a fascinator, The dinner was intimate but the detail was GRAND......

Upon entry the guests were greeted by a hand made sign...showing them the way to wonderland. Inside was decorated with vintage tea pots, beautiful dollies, whimsical flowers and intricate details to capture the feeling of this magical tale. I particularly love the colour palette of Red, White and Antique Brown.
Each guest was give a calico bag filled with handmade Alice inspired Jewellery (by Princess Allure Jewellery) and served with delicious cocktails poured into coloured vintage glasses and sweetened with Pink Rock candy on a stick (from candy soirees)....Oh the details are amazing.....have a look for yourself....

Tagged by the lovely Vesna from My little Jedi

1) When I was a little girl I used to look up at my dad and think he was the tallest man in the word.....until I grew up ( even so he still was the tallest man in the world to me)

2) I wanted to be a pilot at the age of 3......then I went to school and realised you need to be smart...

3) My weakness is bags....bags and more bags.

4) I am hopeless at applying makeup but love buying it

5) My biggest fear in life is not having my family around me and I loath cockroaches

6) My sister is my best friend and can not go a day with out talking to her (more than once)

7) When I was pregnant to my eldest....I craved donuts so much so that I began to look like one

8) I am addicted to coke zero ( so bad I know)

9) I don not have all the answers...despite of what my 4 year old thinks

10) I adore my kids and wouldn't change them for anything .... but I looooooove alone time (very rare these days....but I still hold hope that I will get an hour to myself sometime soon)

The lovely Suzanna from Mon Tresor recently celebrated her son's 3rd Birthday and how lucky is little Maddox to have such a talented and creative mama......The theme is inspired from Maddox's favourite dessert....Ice cream. With a yummy colour palette of Vanilla, Chocolate, blue and a hint of pink...this party ss sure to make you ice - scream with delight.....We were asked to come up with a chocolate bar favour to match this perfect party and we excepted with pleasure.....well done Suzanna for putting together such a creative and fun party for your special little man.

A well designed candy buffet with all the right details and aesthetics....Love it all but my favourite would have to be the ribbon back drop representing the ice cream flavours of vanilla, chocolate and a hint or strawberry pink. Gorgeous

I love that Suzanna chose simple noodle boxes for the ice cream topping selection, and tied ribbon and gorgeous hand made tags around them. Simple works best and the shade of chocolate ribbon is so yummy.

This is this is the shot that makes me crave ice cream......beautiful buckets filled with super yummy ice cream.......mmmmmm

You may remember that a few weeks back I posted on facebook that I was determined to find gorgeous and inspiring boys parties.....loooooove all the pretty girls parties but as a mum of 2 boys I want to share a little more boyish gorgeousness with you all....so having said that today's feature party comes from the lovely Tara from Sweet Little Birdy.

Tara put together this cute and amazing party for her little man Mackinnon who turned one....theme is country...Farms, fields, tractors....western.....just a simple country theme that she turned into a spectacular vision....I think you will agree that Tara did a super job.....lucky boy to have a talented mummy!

I just love all the details .... from that amazing cake with the cute country boots, to the hat cookies.....and the chick cupcakes....not to mention the tractor cupcakes too....but my favourite by far are the adorable little barn favour boxes that Tara found on Etsy.....too cute for words.

Oh and what is a first birthday with out bubbles toddlers looooove bubbles and these are so well presented.

I just love the colours and ideas used in this party the cupcakes are super cute the favour boxes unique and most important of all the theme is fun for little Mackinnon...

Happy Birthday Alexander the Great......

Toady's post is not about eye candy, amazing buffets or parties, nor is it about cute chocolate bar favours and wedding bonbonniere. No, today is dedicated to my beautiful little man Alexander Peter, who turns 2 today.

Two years ago today I was lying in a hospital bed waiting for the birth of my second child. To cut a long story short, my gorgeous dad passed away in August and 2 days after his funeral my waters broke, I was only 25 weeks pregnant, I was hospitalised immediately and told that my baby would be delivered with in 3 days with a 50/50 chance of survival........miraculously I managed to hold on to him for another 2 months. Two months of sitting in hospital grieving for my father and waiting for the fate of Alexander to unfold. Two months with out my husband and my 2 year old son Luke......but I managed to get through it and was determined to save my baby. October 7 Alexander Peter Lazos was born weighing only 2 kgs, the day was bitter sweet, as we almost lost him but although he was almost 9 weeks early, it was evident that Alexander earned is name and survived the worst. After some time in intensive care and then special care, Alex was finally home with us where he belonged.

So today's post a little bit of therapy for me and an opportunity to send out a special message to my family, Thank you to my amazing husband who at the time, managed to get through our house renovations, look after a 2 year old and visiting me in hospital every single day...sometimes twice a day.....it is days like this that I realise how lucky I am to have what I have....Thank you to my beautiful boy Luke for enduring such a difficult time without his mummy. And a very special thanks to my beautiful Dad for giving Alexander the best present anyone could give.......his soul!

Well....well...what a busy few weeks it has been at at candy soirees....so many wonderful projects, including my two boys combined carnival birthday party.....but the highlight had to be the amazing Ellie make up launch. A show stopping event put together by the reputable Melbourne Make up artist Elissa Gia, the master mind and talent behind Ellie make up. Elissa launched her new and exciting exclusive make up range.....now I am a Chanel girl and I have to say Ellie's make up sits with in this calibre of make up ..... it is soooooo good. She has definitely won me over and I will be making the switch. The quality is second to none and the range of colours and products are to die for....not to mention that sleek and elegant packaging that shouts ELLIE Make up sophistication.

Candy soirees was asked to sponsor the event with Personalised Ellie makeup chocolate bars for all the guests to take home with them in their Goodie bags....(all 250 guests) and we set up a delicious candy buffet for everyone to enjoy. Amongst the sponsors were Toni and Guy of Armadale, Mor, The wedding establishment, Kate Hill Flowers, Jason Grech and many more impressive names.

The event was held at Melbourne's fashion lounge, with champagne and nibbles upon arrival....a show stopping fashion parade,cameras, photo shoots and an amazing display of the new make up range. I was in heaven.

Congratulations to Elissa for this brilliant new venture in her already amazing career. Much hard work went into putting this all together, oh and did I mention that Elissa is a mum of a gorgeous little toddler, Sundae and has one on the way.....WOW what a super mum. Candy soirees wishes Ellie make up much success, We were very honoured to be part of such an exciting event...........

Carnival Extravaganza...created with love for my precious boys

Well...well...it has been a very busy time here at candy soirees, mainly because I was working on a very personal project.....my 2 boys combined 'carnival' birthday party. My big boy Luke turned 4 in August and my baby Alexander turns 2 next week.....so off to the carnival we all went to celebrate both birthdays....like I always say to my boys.....'sharing is caring'

The Carnival Candy Buffet....the children were in candy heaven.

The table was adorned with a selection of colourful and delicious candy, fizzy stick, jaffas, yummy bananas, colourful gumballs and what's a carnival with out pop corn and cotton candy???

There was a display of carnival designed drum boxes (from candy soirees) decorated with red pom poms, displayed on a red cardboard 3 tier cake stand......there were little choc surprises inside for the kids.

At the back of the table I featured 3 tall carnival trumpets which the kids had heaps of fun with (ouch to our ears).....there were colourful yoyos to chose from and a yummy selection of cupcakes wrapped in carnival wrappers. (cup cake toppers from candy soirees)

Our little business candy soirees, is now supplying these delicious alphabet cookies so I just had to have them for the boys party 'L' for Luke and 'A' for Alex. Ohhhhh and I mention earlier the cotton candy.... I packed these in gorgeous and fun candy stripe paper bags.

We had to have 2 cakes off course, delicious mud cake with a rendered look cream ganache on the outside from the very talented Vicky at Dolce Fantasia cakes. I decided to decorate these myself with pom pom cake buntings that I made, one in red and the other in yellow....and simply added jaffas to the base of the cake and decorated with cute clown toppers and circus theme figurines.

We catered for 40 kids...YES 40 kids.....we set up a very long row of tables (banquet style) and dressed them with red table cloths, layered with blue and white stripe paper table runner. The table was decorated with flower balloons in pots and glass jars and the kids ate from gorgeous spotty paper plates and cups.

We also had a separate adult table with macaroons, sandwiches and other little treats.

Loooove these ABC cups that I decorated with yellow chrysanthemums.

Glass soda and water bottles were individually labelled and decorated with colourful twine.

Guest Boys Party Feature - Star Wars Party

Our second boy party feature has to be the most unique and creative 1st birthday that I have ever seen. This party has blown us away....to another galaxy...... let us introduce to you a 'Star Wars Party' for little Aniken....yes that is right Aniken.... named after the star wars character. Vesna (mum of the birthday boy) and owner of the creative My Little Jedi put this brilliant, show stopping party together recently for her little man. The design detail and creativity has really impressed us, and I am sure you will agree that is nothing short of amazing.
Candy Soirees was honoured and so excited when Vesna contacted us to create a chocolate wrapper design for her son's candy buffet.....I had so much fun putting these together for Aniken's party.

The combination of colours work really well with this theme, love the way Vesna captured the true star wars theme, yet interpreted into a boys party theme to suit all ages.

That cake is sensational....love the cupcakes and off course we love the choc bars too :)

All the details are out of this world...too many to mention, the party hats are super cute, the wookie cookies are so clever and love those personalised party bags.

Now this you will agree is brilliant, each little guest received a Jedi certificate (genious) and there were fun
Light sabers to play with.....love it!

And off course young little Jedi Master himself in his cool red hoodie.....Happy 1st Birthday Aniken.....you are one very lucky boy.

Now I know I said I was on a mission to feature more little boys parties ...... but you will have to excuse us while we show you this unbelievable baby shower 'sugar and spice and all things nice' from the lovely and super talented Jennifer Birkhead from Jennifer Birkhead Designs
Jennifer recently put together a baby shower for a very close friend of hers who is expecting a sweet little girl.....ahh little girls they are all sugar and spice.
The colour theme was Pink and Orange.....Jennifer combined these two colour so well and they just look amazing in these photos......there is not one thing that I can pick out as my favourite as I love it all.....but if I had to it would be the clever shelving turned into a sweet and traditional looking candy store.....and the selection of candy off course......Oh and the stunning invitation that Jennifer designed for the occasion.....like all of her invitation designs it is nothing short of fabulous and I must say I love the way Jennifer uses colour.

As promised I am on the quest to find amazing and fun boys party themes. There are so many pretty and innovative girls parties out there but what about our gorgeous little men.....they can be just as much fun to entertain so we introduce to you our very first guest party feature sent to us by the lovely Katena from Taylor made Baking
Katena put together the brilliant and unique Lego theme party for her son's 7th birthday....I am to assume he loves Lego and maybe he is a little engineer in the making. I would love to share these inspiring photos with you all. Have a look at the attention to detail....I love it all but I must say the bubble wrap painted green to look like Lego is a BRILLIANT idea.....not to mention all the yummy treats. Wow Katena you have really impressed candy soirees.......

Love this dessert table and that cake is fabulous.....

The party boxes are perfect and these primary colours work really well with this theme....love love love the cupcakes and the Lego man cookies....clever, wish I could bake like this.

This (along with the bubble wrap turned Lego table cover ) is my favourite.....the beautifully wrapped chocolate bars with Lego block images.....they almost look 3D.....Brilliant....and impressive. Bet the kids loved these.

How clever is the Lego man paper border around the table...so crafty and effective.....and finally a picture of the happy little birthday boy in his cute Lego T-shirt. Wow Katena didn't miss a thing when it came to putting this little soiree together. Thanks Katena for sharing your gorgeous boys birthday party with us....we loooove the theme.

Cirque Spectaculaires....Real Parties

One of our lovely fans from our face book page , sent us these stunning photos of her son's circus party that she recently styled.....and let me warn you, you will be wowed. Katie is the creative owner of The Ivory Social Bespoke events and party wares.....and given that I am in the middle of planning my sons carnival birthday party, I have to say I was very impressed with all the effort and detail that went into this little soiree. Very Inspiring indeed.

Katie put everything together herself from the gorgeous candy tags to the clever tissue pom pom that was centred in the middle of the room (on the ceiling) with twisted crepe paper draped from the cute pom pom to make a tent effect...clever.

My favourite off course are the chocolate bar wrappers that Katie made herself aren't they just spectaculaire....love..love!....Oh and the cake ..... the printed cookies....the popcorn cones with the silhouette circus tags....the selection of colourful candy....oh and the list just goes on....

YUMMMMMMM.....love those colours.

And off course we all love those retro straws. Perfect for a circus party.

I particularly like Katie's idea of an adult table, decorated with white Gyp in cylinder vases and a delicious display of treats for mums and dads.....nice to think about the parents too...

Romantic WHITE......

One of my favourite photos in my mums house is the wedding portrait of her and my beautiful (late) dad.....Dad all class in a tux with black bow tie....and such a handsome man he was.....and my petite mum in her all white French lace gown....accompanied by a simple white bouquet of roses and standing by her side, her bridesmaids and flower girls dressed in all white. To this day I look at that photo and think about the simplicity of weddings in those days and the pure romance of white. So we are going back in time and re introducing the 'Romance of White'

We are now thinking Christmas ...I know Christmas, can you believe it. So the research has begun. We get inspiration from so many different places and from previous projects. We are currently working on christening centrepieces using buttercup yellow and duck egg blue.....so this got us thinking about how we would be able to combine these colours into a Christmas colour palette.....We are loving Buttercup Yellow, Pale Blue and off course Festive Red, teamed with old fashion craft paper and paper doily details.

I am inspired by so many wonderful designers in particular our Australian talent......and I am always in awe with the amazing and talented Suzi for Alannah Rose Exclusive Invitations, Not only does she have a beautiful Invitation range that I consider as one of the leaders in the wedding Industry and party world but she always manages to put together the most breathtaking little parties for her daughters. I love looking at her work.....I can honestly say she is the Amy Atlas of Petite Femme Soirees.

So having said all this I was thrilled when Suzi gave us permission to feature her daughters ladybird garden party....warning you will be inspired :)

Recently the lovely Vesna from My Little Jedi posted an amazing inspiration board about a new trend alert, Yellow and Grey. It was so beautifully put together that it Inspired me to design an invite with this stunning combination (thank you My Little Jedi), Originally my invite started as an engagement announcement card.....but then it was suggested to me that this would make an ideal Baby shower invite.....and so the invite was born........

The Bride wanted a simple pink and white buffet with a love bird theme.

The brief was minimalistic but whimsical and romantic.

Candy soirees dressed the table with the couples favourite selection of candy and we added

2 complimentary cup cakes (chocolate with marshmallow cream) featuring this divine hand made

chocolate love bird topper from Sisko chocolates, specialising in creating unique and amazing chocolate sculptures. Glass single cupcake stand from Sweet little birdie , you can contact them via email for more beautiful pieces from their range. (also can be found on Face book)

The candy jars were dressed in pink and White satin ribbon and decorated with bird labels featuring fabric covered wings, white pearl features and a romantic white feather.

Bird cage supplied by candy soirees was inspired by the couples wedding invite, a pink card with a silhouette bird cage in the background.

Wedding cake that was provided and designed by the bride and groom sat on our stunning cake stand

purchased from Little Sooti.

Fresh flower arranged by candy soirees were placed in the vintage style bird cage.....dark pink roses and aromatic white Singapore orchids.

Personalised little birdie tags dressed the candy boxes, for the guests to fill and take away with them.

We found this adorable mini hat box that we dressed with pink polka dot paper and white satin ribbon....I love this box for gifting and display ideas.

The Table display also included two photos of the couple requested by the bride to show the guests how much they adore each other. Ornate Frames in white supplied by candy soirees.

Spring Garden Party

It is a sunny day today in Melbourne (surprisingly) and it feels like spring is around the corner.

Candy soirees has been working on new themes for children's birthday parties.....and I think.... given the beautiful day it is today, it is time to introduce one of our latest little projects {just a wee peek}

New party theme: The Garden Party. Simple and so much fun....you can create a gardening activity for the kids by purchasing inexpensive little terracotta pots and mini little plants or seeds and have the kids paint and decorate their pots......and once the little artist work is dry they can plant the flower of their choice...

So much fun.....and creative....

ROLL UP ROLL UP........for CARNIVAL fun.

It is Master Luke's 4th birthday in 10 days and he has requested a Carnival Birthday Party....(Master Luke being my eldest boy). His party will be held at the end of the month....Phew....that gives me a little more time.

So I am on the hunt for new and inspirational ideas to make this party very special for my number one little man......We have found a venue, (our house is on the verge of some major renovations....so home was not an option)......and today we found some fun games for the carnival.....

We paid a visit to our local little toy store in Mont Albert,Windmill Toys, I love this store because they have the most adorable wooden toys and it has such a vintage and nostalgic feel.......and I always find what I am looking for. Have a look at these junior 'Quoits'.... I love these and the kids are going to have so much fun.
We also couldn't leave with out traditional and colour full Juggling balls, I think the kids are going to love trying to master the art of Juggling.

We were very happy with our little purchase today and it was a start to what is proving to be a big event for my Lukey. The search continues.......

How gorgeous is this vintage cart, Oh if could get my hands on one I would love to use it for the dessert buffet.....and I think a traditional popcorn machine is a must.

Kids Party favours are becoming more and more creative these days....and the race is on to find the most unique and the cutest design for that special little soiree.....we have put together a few of our creations to inspire you for your child's next birthday party.....these are cute and inexpensive ways to please little guests and decorate your child's birthday table or candy buffet:

Here is an inexpensive yet cute little party favour for you to consider...clear little acetate boxes filled with lollies to match the theme and colour for your child's birthday party. This one we created for a little boys blue polka dot party.

If you are not much of a baker (like me) and can't go past these adorable cupcake wrappers from the cupcake wrapper co. then why not fill them up with lollies and decorate with a custom designed cupcake topper (you can find these at our online shoppe www.candysoirees.com.au ). Here we have filled this polka dot design with yummy milk bottles......an all time favourite lolly.

A vintage lace and pearl wedding soiree......

We recently came across this amazing soiree from the gorgeous and talented Elissa Gia. Elissa is the founder and director of

Ellie make up and is about to launch her own exclusive make up range. Candy soirees is pleased to be one of the official sponsors for this fabulous event.... Ellie make up is Melbourne's most exclusive make up company and preferred make up specialist for many agencies, they are all about exceptional creative flair and perfection so it would be fair to say that Elissa's wedding was all these things and a reflection of her style and glamour. More is more and in this case it works.......

Elissa's dress was designed and made by Annette of Melbourne.....a full "Gone with the wind' number ..... she depicted a modern day Scarlett O'Hara..... beautiful and romantic.

Elissa and Greg celebrated their special day at the Atlantic South Wharf in Melbourne....a stunning venue overlooking the water.....The day was carefully planned with every attention to detail. The colour scheme was set for ivory, vintage peach and chocolate with highlights of lace, pearls and tulle throughout. Magical and enchanting.

The theme carried through from the vintage peach lace invites that Elissa designed herself and had printed by papermarc in Hawthorn......

The venue boasted romance with vintage candlelight decor, tall candelabras on each table entwined with ivory tulle and tied in a large feminine bow, each candelabra featured ivory and champagne blossom flowers attached to every arm .....The tables were presented in a breathtaking regal manner.....from fine silver cutlery, clusters of small glass candle votives to beautifully presented menus matching the invitations........stunning!

Elissa and Greg invited their closest family and friends to share this magical day with them and as a token of their appreciation they presented each guest with these stylish wedding favours, The ladies received ivory tulle pouches filled with tradition sugar almonds tied with cord and for the men, simplistic white noodle boxes wrapped in vintage lace....showing Elissa's true sense of romantic style.

The flowers were a careful selection of champagne and peach roses and were also featured on the stunning wedding cake....a 3 tier lace and pearl design that was truly a centrepiece in itself. The little bride and groom figurine at the base was from Elissa's parents wedding cake on their special....love the personal and sentimental touch.

Remember the good old fashion birthday parties we used to have back on the 70's and 80's (yes I know I am showing my age)......there were no computer games, no Ben Ten and absolutely no Hannah Montana.....My memory takes me back to glorious parties set up in our back yard with decorative paper party hats, hand made paper chains, a table full of colourful treats and home baked birthday cakes. All the kids loved the simplicity and fun of a home birthday party. I just loved the effort that my mum went to in order to create a memorable Birthday party for us.........

Bonbonniere comes from the french word Bon Bon which means sweet...... and traditionally the meaning of bonbonniere is a small ornate box or dish of candy that originated in France over 300 years ago.

Today, the traditional bonbonniere or favour has evolved and designing a bonbonniere has become quite an art form. Here are some favourite designs that we recently found.......Bonbon-licious !

Emily's 1st Birthday Soiree

Recently we celebrated my god daughters first birthday party.......and we had so much fun designing her perfect little soiree. We worked with a vintage theme, featuring her favourite colours..... pink and raspberry. We designed a sweet candy buffet, beautiful vintage style glass jars dressed with polka dot ribbon and filled with delicious pink marshmallows and everyones favourite...traditional raspberry lollies among other candilicious treats....what fun we had putting this together for our adorable little Emi...candy soirees, designed the perfect lolly bags for Emi's little guests. Pink gingham fabric bags filled with a sweet a selection of lollies,tied with raspberry red ribbon and decorated with custom designed tags to add that personal touch and vintage feel....(available soon on our online store: COLLECTIONS by candysoirees. My favourite highlight were the gorgeous cupcakes we designed, these yummy treats were made by Emily's talented Auntie and we completed the look with candy soirees custom made cup cake toppers......too cute for a cute little girl. I am always amazed at the art of wedding cakes, they really are truely inspiring. Wedding cakes are the primary centrepiece at a wedding.....so no wonder so much time and effort goes into designing the perfect cake for the perfect couple......wedding cakes have come a long way since the traditional multi tier white cake with the quirky little bride and groom topper.
